I remember,

driving out from Denver and fishing the Blue River and right underneath the steel bridge.
I think Nori went shopping. It was a nice break from the Vail snow bunny scene.

Large Trout - Dry Fly

I would have guessed Central PA based upon river, vegetation and topography.  I guess Norway looks a lot like home.

5 Reasons to Fish Central Pa

1.   Stay free at shay Curly's.  Your stay includes, 1 complimentary Bloody Mary, free home made bacon and as much Juno as you can handle.
2.  Get humbled.  Think your good at fly fishing.  Come fish the letort, and get spring creek served.
3.  Fries drizzled with hop oil.  That's right, Troegs brewery is only 20 minutes away and they have fries drizzled with hop oil.  Nuff said.
4.  Give a fishing guide his comeuppance.  Tired of your local fishing guide beaugaurding all the spots?  Come and learn from the minions, some of there best techniques. Includes the slap and tickle, the dangerously close back cast, and the goon stare down.
5.  Another brewery.  After fishing falling springs, enjoy a smoked lager at Roy Pitz brewery.

A Note From the Director:

Welcome to our second Pennsylvania Fly Fishing Show in historic Lancaster. Last year was our first time at bat and it was a home run. Everyone enjoyed the show and we are excited about returning. With this location fly fishers can travel conveniently from several metropolitan areas within an hour or more and enjoy this great show.

Once again the quality talks and demonstrations are scheduled with many of Pennsylvania’s finest fly-fishing celebrities as well as nationally known instructors. The show stars are the sport’s best and you can meet them face to face with your questions and conversations. There are over 40 seminars each day, casting demos at two ponds, and dozens of fly tiers sharing their secrets for you to learn. For a more intimate experience be sure to check out our “Classes with the Experts” and select the best one for you.

Tell your friends about the show if they missed it last year. Get ready to see just about every rod, reel, new tackle, tying materials, books and DVD’s our sport has to offer. They’ll be products new for 2013 and plenty of show deals to entice you to stock up for the coming season.

The International Film Festival was so popular it will be back again on Saturday evening with an awesome line-up of films from exotic fly fishing around the globe.

So have a great time. Enjoy your visit to Lancaster, our show, and the film festival. Come early and stay late. I’ll be here and look forward to seeing all of you.

Lefty's Tie Fest

This year’s CCA Maryland TieFest is scheduled for March 9 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Prospect Bay Country Club. Sign up now for kid’s (under 16) free fly casting lessons. Classes are from 11 to 12 a.m. and limited to 20 kids. Send an email to Tony Friedrich, executive director, at tony@ccamd.org

This year’s TieFest is free for CCA members and anyone under 16, $10 for non-members.
The event has been renamed Lefty Kreh’s TieFest. “Lefty is recognized throughout the world as one of the fathers of fly fishing, and since he’s a Maryland resident it’s most appropriate to name Maryland’s best fly-fishing event after him,” said Friedrich. “Lefty has attended many of the past TieFests and always is open to helping anglers. This is one time when any angler can come up to Lefty or the other fly-fishing experts there and get their individual questions answered.”

See, he does some good stuff too...
