Happy Thanksgiving Minions!

Bacon themed of course…
First you find a turkey,
then you wrap it in bacon, not that the turkey isn't worth eating on its own.
Bacon just makes it a wee bit bettah!

What are you thankful for?

Drinks for Dinks

Fundraiser at TCO in Reading on Saturday.  TCO'sDrinks for Dinks
Come one, come all to support your Tulpehocken Creek fishery.  In its 3rd year, the "Drinks for Dinks" program raises money to continue the stocking and re population of Tulpehocken Creek, (The Tully), with fingerlings. These mini-trout are float stocked in the Fall, and will grow to nearly 8" by Spring. Alledgedly, some of these former 2013 troutlings have been landed pushing the 12" range! This fingerling program is important to the Tully as itproduces "almost wild" trout in both appearance and behavior.
Attending this event shows your dedication and support for the Tully. Prizes, raffles, BEER and food are all part of the day.  The proceeds from sales and the raffle all goes to stocking these munchkin trouts.
*This year our local Trout Unlimited Chapter has agreed to partner with us and match the funds raised to DOUBLE our yearly stocking!! This means we will stock about 3,000 fish this year... maybe more if YOU get off your duff and get here!

Event Details:
  • Casting competition – All Day - $5 entry – winner gets $50.00 TCO Gift Card.

Chip has been part of the TCO Family for years.
He will be tying his favorite steelhead flies.

Some tools I didn't know I needed...

by Screwpop Tools
For instance, the very innovative "Lighter Holder!" No more excuses for a lost lighter with this one.

Titanium Flask Anyone?

The Vargo Funnel Flask’s attached silicone funnel can't be lost.  Simply flip it up for easy filling, then fold it down to sip comfortably.  The 8 oz. titanium flask holds plenty of your favorite drink while imparting no taste, odor, or chemicals.  I think that means no funny metal taste in your bourbon.  They say the funnel will also function as a spout to pour your booze back into the bottle, but who does that?

If they make it longer than 8 months...

they will not be the worst waders that I have had.  After the Simms Freestones failed after a year,  The Dan Bailey's flooding me out in 8 months only and the Simms G3's lack of repelling water in about a year and a half I think it may be time for a new contender...

it is now the Orvis silver sonic zipper fronts turn.  They are now 30% off for a limited time for $325 they will be at my door step in 5-7 days.

Oh and I also have a pair of 600 gram thinsulate (breathable) not neoprene boot foot waders coming for waterfowl and steelhead.
and coach they come in Berwick edition if you want me to order you a pair at buck ninety nine.

Green Drake Say Whaaat?

Recently on Penns some Minions got a little action.

Karma Power-Up at Kocher Park

The Fish-n-Fun event for people with special needs of all ages was held Saturday, June 7th from 9 am to noon.  A rod inspection and rigging "party" was held Friday evening at Rich's nearby campsite.  Participants were paired with experienced anglers, (enter the Minions), to fish a specially stocked section of Fishing Creek.   No licence, experience, or equipment necessary!  There were also nature related crafts and activities, live folk music, face painting, as well as lunch for registered guests and families.

 Helpers and a participant.
 Nice one!

Thanks for making this happen Rich.
