Float Trip Rates

It appears that float trip rates for the Yellowstone area trip are running from $440 to $595 during the period while we'll be in the area.  Jacklin's in W. Yellowstone has the best published rate.  The shops along the Henry's Fork have the most expensive rates.  If I'm calculating this correctly, they only need to have 15 trips per boat to pay it off.  Seems a bit steep to me, but maybe the guides are worth it?
Anyone interested in negotiating a price for at least 2 trips with moderately skilled anglers for the week of 07/22 through 07/27?

ERIE

Appon the arival of Erie double d and I made a quick pit stop was at the local fly shop in town and when prompted on the fishing conditions the gentleman working said ehh? There are fish in the creeks but they are not fresh from the lake and they are very spooky and you need to cover water to find them. The new ride made the trip in 4 hours 10mins with a pitstop for supplies and breakfastA few shots of Elk, Walnut, and 20 mile.BreakfastLunch from Teresa's Deli
A local family kind enough to share thier first Hibatchi outing with us

A shot of a train runing by a field of grapes next to one of the local 23 wineries which a few bottles were brought back for sampleing.

All in all the fishing was hard with fish spooking at our shadows and only a few hook ups and no fish landed, but it was still great to get out and experience a area rich in fishing culture with very hospitable persons and new water.

For weezin' the juice...

A small flotilla of these babies would be just about ideal for a stealth-ninja style drift down Fishing Creek or Penns into the hidden backside honey holes wouldn't they?

Behold the Outcast OSG Commander!

Only 35 lbs., can stand up at will, kayak versatility without a paddle to hang onto.

Fly Fishing Film Festival at the West Branch Resort

April 14th is the date for the next installment of the Fly Fishing Film Festival's visit to the West Branch Resort near Deposit, NY.
Also expected are the usual displays, booths and fly casting competitions.
Check it out at:  http://www.westbranchresort.com/hell_or_high_water.html

I'll be there Friday getting the Defender and the boat trailer inspected.

If the weather is only half again better than it has been the last two years, fishing opportunities will abound, maybe even Hendricksons...
